Access to an airline lounge can radically transform the travel experience.
Before I got into miles and points, I would always aim to arrive at the airport with as little time to spare as possible. The idea of spending extra time in a crowded gate area, or paying over the odds for food and drink at the retail outlets just seemed totally reprehensible.
Since discovering the outrageous luxury of complimentary haircuts, massages, buggy rides to the plane, fine dining and of course cocktails and champagne; there are many airports in the world where I’ll aim to arrive three hours or more before my flight, purely in order to enjoy the lounge as a destination in itself.
