Welcome to JarvisMarcos.com, a thorough and extensive database of my travel reviews.

I fly over 100,000 miles per year in First and Business class cabins and review every new product that I try. Similarly, I review almost every luxury hotel and airport lounge that I set foot in

I book the majority of my travel using sales, promotions and a variety of other tricks - often leveraging the power of hotel points and airline miles. If I use a special technique of any kind to book a travel experience, I'll mention it in the review.

This means that hopefully you'll have all the tools you need to book your own amazing trips too!

REVIEW – Air Canada : Business Class – Vancouver to London LHR (B789)

The overall experience was absolutely one of the best that I've ever had in business class. I had no real expectations going into this and came away with a real fondness for AC. If this is the service standard that they are able to consistently deliver, they have to be one of the best airlines in North America.

REVIEW – Plaza Premium Lounge, Vancouver (YVR – International Terminal)

This lounge is a clear improvement over the AC Maple Leaf lounge; it is far more elegantly furnished, has better food options and better coffee. Still, in an international context this is by no means a competitive facility. This is not a scratch on the facilities of HKG, TPE and NRT that many of this lounge's guests will be accustomed to.

REVIEW – Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge, Vancouver (YVR)

Visiting this lounge made me feel dirty. I got in, took some pictures and left. The airport terminal is immeasurably more pleasant than this deplorable den of despair.

REVIEW – Air Canada : Business Class – Los Angeles to Vancouver (A320)

The seat was large and comfortable and featured both power and entertainment. The crew were polite, friendly and efficient (if a little lacking in oenoligical knowledge). The food was plentiful, healthy and delicious with a decent selection of drinks to accompany it.   If BA Club Europe was anything like this I wouldn't hesitate to pay the premium every time I fly!

REVIEW – SWISS : Business Class – Zurich to Los Angeles LAX (B777)

There is a lot to like about SWISS business class but there are more than enough negatives to place this in the second tier of business class products behind the likes of Qatar, Etihad and Singapore Airlines. If the cabin was all throne seats and there was dine on demand, things would be very different. For the average passenger though, ending up crammed next to a stranger by the window, with access to a lower tier of lounge, any of the three aforementioned airlines would provide a better experience when flying on their flagship long haul routes.

REVIEW – Cathay Pacific : Business Class – Hong Kong to London (B77W)

The CX reverse herringbone business class seat is often used as the benchmark for what is acceptable in a business class product nowadays. For a daytime flight I absolutely agree. It supplies storage, comfort and direct aisle access to every single passenger. There really are no bad seats on Cathay, it's nicer to get a window seat of course but it isn't a massive downgrade to end up in a middle seat.

REVIEW – Cathay Pacific : First Class – Hong Kong to London (B77W)

CX puts out an excellent F product. The ground handling is non-existent but The Pier is a beautiful facility. The fact that CX fits 6 seats into a space where other airlines place 8 is absolutely laudable and the result is a very spacious and comfortable product which short of having a closing door, is about as private as any you'll see in the sky.

REVIEW – JAL : Business Class – Jakarta to Tokyo Narita (October 2015)

JL J was a mixed bag. I found the service to be competent but not particularly friendly. I also really didn't like how bare bones everything seemed for a flight which is similar in distance to LHR-JFK. No airline would cross the Atlantic without providing a proper amenity kit and a real dinner in J, so I was very disappointed to see JL scraping through with the bare minimum. I would actively avoid flying JL on a similar route in the future.

REVIEW – Garuda Indonesia : Business Class – Bali to Jakarta (B77W)

I really enjoyed my GA J flight, the catering crew and seat were all top notch. I was definitely left wanting more and would not hesitate at all to try their long haul J service on the Sogerama seats.
