Welcome to JarvisMarcos.com, a thorough and extensive database of my travel reviews.

I fly over 100,000 miles per year in First and Business class cabins and review every new product that I try. Similarly, I review almost every luxury hotel and airport lounge that I set foot in

I book the majority of my travel using sales, promotions and a variety of other tricks - often leveraging the power of hotel points and airline miles. If I use a special technique of any kind to book a travel experience, I'll mention it in the review.

This means that hopefully you'll have all the tools you need to book your own amazing trips too!

REVIEW – Hyatt Regency Long Beach : Harbor Suite

For $152 this hotel was an absolute steal. The gym was fantastic, the decor throughout was very fresh and modern and the staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating. I really liked the club lounge breakfast and am sure that it would be a great place to grab a drink in the evening too.   If you're staying in Long Beach this hotel is very hard to argue with!

REVIEW – SWISS : Business Class – Zurich to Los Angeles LAX (B777)

There is a lot to like about SWISS business class but there are more than enough negatives to place this in the second tier of business class products behind the likes of Qatar, Etihad and Singapore Airlines. If the cabin was all throne seats and there was dine on demand, things would be very different. For the average passenger though, ending up crammed next to a stranger by the window, with access to a lower tier of lounge, any of the three aforementioned airlines would provide a better experience when flying on their flagship long haul routes.

REVIEW – SWISS Senator Lounge, ZRH – E Gates

The Senator Lounge at Zurich's E gates redefines what an airport lounge can be. If this was a First Class facility it would be amongst the best in the world. The fact that it is open to frequent flyers across the Star Alliance network, flying shorthaul economy, is absolutely stultifying.

REVIEW – SWISS : Business Class – Copenhagen to Zurich (A320)

SWISS shorthaul business is quite a bare bones affair. No jacket hanging, an economy seat, no centre table and no hot food. The service was very efficient and friendly but this was ultimately an economy experience in everything but name.

REVIEW – The British Airways Boston Lounge – BOS Terminal E

As far as BA lounges go, this one is pretty good. The lounge is clean, the service is great and the variety of high quality food is truly excellent. I loved the setting of the bar but the cocktails could definitely use some work. Similarly boarding from the lounge is a nice idea but the execution fell a little flat, once we filtered into a line of Economy passengers downstairs. Whilst this is one of the best BA lounges I've ever set foot in and nothing was massively wrong with it I wasn't wowed. When it comes to lounge refurbishment programmes, AA is very much the dominant partner in this transatlantic joint venture.

REVIEW – Conrad Maldives : Seaplane Lounge MLE [Evening Departure]

The staff at the Conrad Seaplane lounge are extremely friendly, the space is clean, the seats are comfortable and the views are great. However, the dinner buffet seems like one last desperate attempt by the Conrad to extract cash from people for something that really isn't worth the money. It' a shame that the hotel has decided to leave customers with this as their parting memory.

Conrad Maldives Seaplane Lounge Jarvis Marcos MLE

REVIEW – Conrad Maldives : Seaplane Lounge MLE [Morning]

We were first off the plane - as were our bags - so we found ourselves in a totally empty customs and immigration hall. After a quick check of our passport and putting all of our bags through a scanner (because the resorts sure as hell don't want you bringing your own booze when they can charge you $30++ for a glass of wine ;) ), we were out in the warm breeze of the arrivals area.

REVIEW – Cathay Pacific : The Bridge Business Class Lounge, HKG

Having since visited the newly refurbished Pier Business class lounge, this comes in a definite second. If you just need somewhere to grab something quick and you're pressed for time, this lounge is great. If you want to spend hours really maximising your lounge time and making a day out of it, The Pier is the lounge for you.

REVIEW – Qantas First and Business Class Lounge, HKG

If you are short on time and have to stay near the low numbered gates, the QF lounge is the place to be. The food, drink and service are, on the whole, much better than the CX Wing lounge - that includes the Wing's First Class section.

REVIEW – DNATA Lounge, Singapore Changi T1

Being in Terminal 1 of Singapore Changi airport leaves you with the distinct feeling of being in the ‘B team’. Whilst SQ’s high ceilings […]
